TransCanada Corporation is a major North American energy company based in Calgary, Alberta, developing and operating energy infrastructure in North America. Its pipeline network includes approximately 3,460 kilometres (2,150 miles) of oil pipeline, plus approximately 68,500 kilometres (42,564 miles) of wholly owned and 11,500 kilometres (7,146 miles) of partially owned gas pipeline that connects with virtually all major gas supply basins in North America. TransCanada is one of the continent’s largest providers of gas storage and related services with approximately 400 billion cubic feet (1.1×1010 m3) of storage capacity. All eyes will be on Edmonton, Canada, in 2014 as the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final returns to Alberta’s Capital City. As a proven host of many major international sports events, Edmonton last hosted the World Championships in 2001, which left a lasting legacy for the sport of triathlon in Edmonton. From August 26 - September 1, 2014, the world returns to Edmonton to race in scenic Hawrelak Park and through Edmonton’s expansive river valley. In addition to the elite and paratriathlon races, the 2014 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final will showcase standard- and sprint-distance age group races, as well as an aquathlon, U23, junior and mixed relay world championships offering athletes the chance to compete in the same venue as the world’s elite athletes.
