The Sr. Manager-Partnership Marketing is a great relationship manager with the ability to sell, negotiate, and align our company goals with those of existing and potential partners. This role develops and implements strategic partner marketing plans for Golfsmith International. Seeks out and vets new business and partner opportunities, both endemic and non-endemic.  Responsible for the planning and execution of consumer proposition /promotion development. Creates sponsorship opportunities, working towards the development of incremental revenue opportunities via Golfsmith International marketing assets. Stays abreast of changes in the marketing environment to best serve the objectives of the organization and adjusts plans accordingly. Using these abilities, you will build long-term relationships with quality partners in which both sides will mutually benefit from working together. This position is located in Austin, Texas. 

 

  1. Create a systematic, process-driven approach to partner outreach and relationship management, including the annual planning process, regular program recaps, updates, etc.
  2. Create sponsorship opportunities, working towards the development of incremental revenue opportunities.
  3. Develops and manages promotions and consumer propositions.
  4. Seeks out and vets new business and partner opportunities, both endemic and non-endemic.
  5. Focus on strategic planning and execution of National partner programs.
  6. Develop the marketing communications planning and execution of all new product launches with key vendor partners.
  7. Manage account planning, coordination and execution to ensure partners’ marketing programs meet, if not exceed expectations of key partnerships, such as GolfTEC, Taylormade, Callaway, etc.
  8. Collaborate with senior management and other marketing teammates to align our internal goals with new and existing partner relationships.
  9. Forecast, measure, and report the results of various projects with partners, including co-created and/or co-branded promotions, lead sharing, and/or event partnerships.
  10. Establish the right processes for engaging and vetting new partners while maintaining and deepening relationships with existing partners.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 7+ years partnership marketing, event marketing, promotions or related experience.
  • Forward thinking with the ability to generate new ideas and ways of creating excitement and new opportunities. (“think outside the box”).
  • Must have a proven track record in account management with responsibility over budgets, planning, marketing communications and new business development.
  • Strong problem solving skills are critical for the success of this position.
  • Negotiation skills, defining business terms and contract management is key.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable as vendor programs and needs may change throughout the year; ability to partner with internal and external groups to manage and execute cooperative marketing programs and cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with aggressive deadlines with little supervision is critical.
  • Enthusiasm and team-oriented, collaborative work style; outgoing personality and relationship building skills so as to develop strong partnerships, both internal and external.
  • Must have extraordinary customer service, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to proactively communicate with a variety of partners.
