The selected Director, Strategic Sponsorships candidate will be responsible for TE Connectivity’s global strategic sponsorship activities with a focus on the following areas: management and activation of the company’s Formula E racing sponsorship, oversight of the Andretti Technologies sponsorship, and development of new business-to-business and business-to-marketing relationships. This position can be based at our Berwyn, PA (near Philadelphia), Darmstadt, Germany or Schaffhausen, Switzerland facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
This newly-created role on TE’s Corporate Marketing team will oversee all strategic marketing sponsorships and programs. Most immediately, the candidate will develop global events, digital programming, and other activation programs for TE’s Formula E and Andretti Technologies sponsorships. The candidate will also evaluate and develop additional sponsorship opportunities, with a focus on an engineering audience. In addition to taking activation concepts from paper to reality, this candidate will define the project tasks and resources needed to facilitate the scope, goals and deliverables that will make the sponsorship successful. The candidate will need to navigate and build the internal, external and agency relationships to make programs successful. A dashboard summary showing measureable ROI will need to be provided to management.
LEADERSHIP AND INFLUENCE:
Internal
Engage business, marketing and sales leadership in sponsorship programming that delivers value to their customer accounts. Engage engineering teams through opportunities that build on TE’s technology and engineering leadership position. Engage and inspire TE employees throughout the world.
External
Work with the organizations we are sponsoring, marketing agencies, media/social influencers and third-parties to execute events, programs, and other materials needed for sponsorships. Reach and build our brand with engineers throughout the world.
BUDGETARY AND MEASUREMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage sponsorship and activation budgets and work with legal, finance, and procurement teams facilitate completion of contracts and other materials. Develop dashboards and other measurement tools to prove the value of the programs.
RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in adherence with aggressive deadlines. Develop and implement controls that improve operational efficiencies for all processes. Use critical thinking and problem solving skills during the decision making process. Bring new ideas and have the creative vision to build our brand through sponsorships.
ENVIRONMENT:
The position will require majority of the workload to be completed in the office. However, there will be travel to activation events. Willing to travel, including international travel. Anticipated travel is 20%.
