SUMMARY:
Responsible for Under Armour’s Global Event program to include Trade Shows, Grassroots, Retail & Title Sponsorship activities, and partner Major League & International Brand/Sports Marketing events. Responsible for developing brand concepts and strategy for a global audience. Turn abstract business and technical concepts into innovative, strategy-driven visual stories that will elevate our brand image/message.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop annual strategic plans
Develop and execute individual marketing plans for each event to create a memorable experience, maximize ROI and meet internal stakeholder objectives.
Build best practices, standardized project management processes, and effective internal communication.
Develop measurement/KPI reporting and track event ROI.
Create a fully interactive, expeditionary and scalable event experience that encompasses direct-to-consumer retail, social media, and digital experiential marketing
Direct UA involvement in events with our partner leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA)
Direct UA involvement in events to promote our professional athletes
Manage UA-Sponsored events
To include: All America Series, Senior Bowl, Bay to Breakers, Baltimore Running Festival, etc.
Develop strategy to integrate partner agencies and Brands
Work with Grassroots team to supervise UA Grassroots Marketing Events program
To include: 7on7 Tournaments, IMG Soccer Cup, and various other tournaments
Supervise UA Retail and Retail Partnership Events program
All off-campus events for UA Brand House stores and partnership events with DSG, TSA, Modells, Foot Locker, City Sports, etc.
Manage UA International events
To include: Olympics, World Cup, China retail events, etc.
Work closely with Director of Global Sports Marketing on strategy development
Provide event strategy and branding guidance to all satellite offices
Direct UA Trade Show program of 75+ shows
Manage all off-campus GiveBack Events
To include WWP NCAA games, UA Youth Movement court & field refurbishments, Power in Pink retail events, Major League philanthropic partnerships (i.e., NFL Play60), etc.
Build and empower a team that will ensure efficient execution of UA Global Events in partnership with Event, PR & Marketing agencies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A reputation for outstanding leadership, team building & recruiting. A leader with superior inspirational qualities who creates an atmosphere in which people work together enthusiastically and co-operatively to produce outstanding results; one who attracts top talent from outside the organization while developing strong teams within.
Proven experience working well with others to maintain and build cross-functional (internal and external) relationships including agency partners, internal clients, and influencers.
Prior experience communicating complex ideas in a compelling manner to internal stakeholders or external partners.
An ability to lead by forming productive relationships cross-functionally with our leadership team. Have respect for what the company has accomplished while bringing new thinking and suggesting well-reasoned points of view for improving the performance of the business.
Ability to identify strategic needs, resource key projects, develop recommendations, and lead change implementation with little or no direction.
Prior experience working for a global company with a strong brand and a distinct culture. Experience working for either a start-up and/or high-growth organization is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and business acumen as demonstrated through previous work experience and accomplishments.
Multitasking capability to juggle the intricacies of planning offsite events in unfamiliar locations
Ability to lead others by influence and develop strong relationships across the organization
Ability to build and maintain long-term partner relationships, ensuring the most cost-effective contracts are developed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS degree, graduate degree is helpful but not required
8-10 years of experience in business, event planning and leadership
Public relations and marketing experience is considered an asset
