The Manager of Sponsorships reports to the Head of Communications & Events, who reports to the Chief of Marketing for the Group Insurance (GI) division at Prudential in Roseland, New Jersey. This is a key managerial position that will oversee all Group Insurance corporate sponsorships, charitable giving events, and executive and advisory board placement. Most of these functions involve representing GI externally to various constituents, including customers/clients, associates, brokers, specific industries, competitors and the general public.


This is a senior position with responsibility for overseeing all sponsorships, conferences, charitable giving, executive board placement and advisory board placement. All sponsorships and board placements should be in strategic alignment with the GI brand: "Experience Prudential.” They also should align with the GI purpose of delivering financial wellness and the GI Critical Priorities, as well as the overall Prudential Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and functional guidance in partnership with the Events team in selecting and planning conferences and sponsorship events. This will require building effective and collaborative relationships with business partners in Events, Marketing, Communications and the Strategic Leadership Team.


Overall responsibilities:

  • Advance GIs vision, mission, critical priorities and strategic business objectives by creating and implementing sponsorships and conferences for associates, leaders, brokers/producers and other audiences.
  • Identify executive board, advisory board, committee placement opportunities, conferences and external speaking opportunities for senior GI leaders and members of the Strategic Leadership Team.
  • Own and implement GIs 2016 Conference Strategy
  • Work with business leaders to implement existing conference strategy and identify new opportunities that drive GI brand awareness, Critical Priorities and business growth.
  • Partner with the Events team in Strategic Sourcing to plan the event logistics.
  • Partner with the Marketing department to develop appropriate materials that position the conference or sponsorship effectively to internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee flawless implementation of sponsorship and conference activities.
  • Measure and evaluate the impact of sponsorship strategies, including having oversight for management of event costs and budget, spend analysis and post-event reports and results.
  • Connect the dots with Communications to ensure alignment of messaging, speeches, talking points, presentations and other communication materials.
  • Utilize the latest event technology and mobile applications to enhance audience experience or gather data, such as MeetingPlay.


    Required Skills

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field, along with 7+ years professional sponsorship management, corporate meeting and event planning experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of sponsorship program management strategies.
  • Experience with both internal and external communications and events.
