What You Are Responsible For:

  • Demonstrates, through behavior, Florida Hospital’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork.
  • Manages development of annual and quarterly sports marketing plans including, but not limited to, advertising, marketing, digital marketing, promotions, community relations, special events, sponsorships, physician relations, philanthropy and customer service.
  • Works with marketing leadership team to develop strategic vision and oversee execution of sports/community marketing campaigns that meets established branding, preference and volume goals.
  • Identifies goals and objectives of region marketing and programming and develops integrated sports marketing strategies to support objectives. Develops plans to meet goals with tracking mechanisms to ensure success.
  • Identifies and analyzes proposals from potential sports prospects across each region. Serves a region resource for working knowledge of sports competitive landscape.
  • Assists with the negotiation of contracts (new and renewals) to ensure strategic alignment with Florida Hospital’s short-term and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Develops business-to-business strategy and relationships with aligned local (or regional or national) organizations to identify strategic business opportunities that align with Florida Hospital’s region-specific goals.
  • Proactively makes recommendations and brings innovative solutions to the development of appropriate marketing strategies in sports to drive business growth and brand equity.
  • Manages and facilitates sporting/entertainment ticketing and hospitality program.
  • Manages market research projects related to sports/community partners and actively monitors fandom.
  • Responsible for tracking ROI of all sports/community initiatives and establishing tracking mechanisms. Reviews ROI with Director and/or Vice President. Oversees subsequent sports/community plan adjustments.
  • Manages special assignments for the department as needed. May represent the department on cross-functional teams and task forces within the region or division.


    Required Skills

  • Must have experience and hands-on working knowledge of marketing and branding with a focus and understanding of how branding is impacted through sports marketing and community partnerships.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; demonstrated team player, consensus builder, persuasive presenter and influencer who can work well with others – from executives to management to staff – using tact and diplomacy; consistently delivers high level of customer service to internal customers and external strategic partners.
  • Excellent written communications with ability to create, compose, and edit written material in a concise and clear manner.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, project management, budget management, organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, excel under tight deadlines and have solid computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Reader or Professional. Working knowledge of InDesign, Publisher or any graphics program is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to manage a budget effectively, create and implement business analysis and ROI reporting related to each sports and community strategic partnership.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytic, and ability to plan and implement projects on time and on budget.
  • Works proactively and independently showing initiative and problem-solving skills, consulting with administration and seeking advice when appropriate for situations outside authority and expertise.
  • Must conduct themselves in a professional manor at all times; must be hard working and ethical.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Marketing, Business, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Advertising or related field. A Master’s degree in Sports Business Management or Business Administration is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience and proven track record in marketing and/or sports marketing and community partnerships.
  • Experience working with professional and amateur sports teams and strategic community partnerships is highly desired.
  • Valid driver’s license.
