The Sponsorships and Events team is chartered with providing a single point of accountability for the strategic development, oversight, and execution of brand sponsorships and events. We are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager of Entertainment that will be responsible for overseeing partnership development, management, and execution of T-Mobile’s entertainment portfolio, which includes partnerships such as T-Mobile Arena, Dick Clark Productions and other media sponsorships, festivals, talent partnerships and celebrity influencer program.
The individual should have a passion for entertainment marketing, particularly music, an ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in building entertainment marketing platforms for brands, and a fundamental understanding of marketing principles. The role will lead the entertainment marketing team in strategic partnership planning and development, execution, communication, and measurement of entertainment marketing partnerships that support T-Mobile’s brand and business strategies. The role will work closely with the Sr. Director of Sponsorships and Events on the overall portfolio strategy and negotiation of key partnerships, and will work cross functionally with multiple internal departments, properties, agencies, and senior-level leadership.
Responsibilities
Overall management of entertainment portfolio and execution strategy
Lead and develop a team of 2 direct reports and entertainment marketing agency
Support leadership in strategic development of portfolio and major partnership negotiations
Consult role with other business units of TMUS on entertainment efforts and negotiations
Establish and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Prepare and present entertainment partnership strategies and programs to senior leadership
Establish key performance indicators, measure, and deliver results
Oversee entertainment marketing budget
Qualifications:
Proven experience leading and managing national entertainment properties, internal teams, and agency partners for or on behalf of a big brand, experience with major broadcast sponsorship platforms preferred
Deep understanding of and experience in entertainment marketing at a national and local level, music related entertainment platforms preferred
Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to deliver clear and concise marketing strategies and briefs to all organizational levels
Ability to demonstrate how to articulate a brand vision and message through entertainment marketing
Proven asset management skills with the ability to manage the development of core brand assets
Prior experience leading or involvement in partnership negotiations
Ability to think critically and react quickly and calmly in high-pressure situations
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, able to consistently meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills, willingness to accept and provide direction, ability to work independently while remaining a team player
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field
Minimum of 7-10 years experience in developing and executing entertainment marketing platforms.
Experience in competitive analysis, advertising, or media management a plus
Must be able to attend sponsorship meeting and events, possibly including holidays and/or in excess of 40 hours per week, travel up to 25% of the year
Candidate must demonstrate strategic and creative thinking abilities, strong leadership skills and excellent communication (verbal and written)
Telecom and/or entertainment property experience a plus
