Description
Primary responsibilities
Evaluates, investigates and responds to marketing sponsorship proposals, including research of potential sponsorship opportunities meeting stated criteria.
Plans and executes sponsorship activation projects, including administration and documentation of credentials or other sponsorship benefits, detailed communication and logistics for activation events.
Manages all budgets, forecasts and commitments, including post-event billing of charges.
Inspects and evaluates facilities and/or venues for suitability relative to sponsorship objectives.
Leads agency and/or additional staff in the activation of programs, properties or concept development to support the initiatives across the footprint
Qualifications
Minimum job requirements
Five(5)+ years experience in event and/or sponsorship marketing for a major corporation or marketing agency.
Skilled in proposal evaluation, asset valuation techniques and practices
Experience in contract negotiation and management, including asset administration.
A consummate professional. Maintains composure when confronted with difficult people and/or situations. Mature and confident with a positive outlook.
Highly developed communications and organizational skills. Articulate, persuasive, and demonstrates a balance of assertiveness and relationship-building. Thoughtful in communicating a "no" such that client relationships can be maintained and nurtured.
Detail oriented and deadline driven. Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
Excellent team player with the ability to work independently
Financial acumen - Management/Cost accounting. Strong Excel, Power Point, Word, and Microsoft Project (or other planning software) skills
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or marketing
Travel is expected, and may be required up to 20% of this job, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Must have valid drivers' license, have access to personal transportation, and be able to secure credit in own name.
