The Sponsorships and Events team is chartered with bringing the T-Mobile brand story to life through live experiences at the national and local level including strategic development, planning, and execution of brand sponsorships and events. The Senior Sponsorship Manager will sit on the Sponsorship and Events team and report to the Director of Sports Marketing. They will be responsible for overseeing the management, execution, and performance measurement of T-Mobile’s marquee national sponsorship platform, Major League Baseball. This role will also support additional sports partnerships, as needed.
The individual should have strong knowledge and experience operating in the discipline of national sponsorships with fundamental understanding of marketing principles. The role will partner on development of the MLB sponsorship strategy and oversee the MLB sponsorship marketing process including development, execution, measurement, and communication of the sponsorship. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing solution driven programs that support T-Mobile’s brand and business strategies based on sound business rationale, consumer insights, and other business information. The role will work cross functionally with multiple internal departments, properties, agencies, and leadership.
Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of MLB sponsorship platform, coordinating with both internal and external agency and league partners
Manage MLB campaigns and key tactics to meet and exceed business/brand goals
Partner to develop the MLB Sponsorship strategy and platform
Lead a cross functional team and agency partners in execution of major MLB tentpole events
Establish and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Establish key performance indicators, measure, and deliver results
Oversee MLB sponsorship budget
Support across additional sports related properties, as assigned
Qualifications
Proven experience managing national sponsorship properties, internal teams, and agency partners for a major brand
Understanding and experience in sponsorship marketing at a national and local level
Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to deliver clear and concise marketing strategies and briefs to all organizational levels
Understanding of how to articulate a brand vision and message through sponsorships
Proven asset management skills with the ability to manage the development of core brand assets
Ability to think critically and react quickly and calmly in high-pressure situations
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, able to consistently meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills, willingness to accept and provide direction, ability to work independently while remaining a team player
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in developing and executing national sponsorship platforms.
Experience in competitive analysis, advertising, or media management a plus
Must be able to attend sponsorship meeting and events, possibly including holidays and/or in excess of 40 hours per week, travel up to 20% of the year
Candidate must demonstrate strategic and creative thinking abilities, strong leadership skills and excellent communication (verbal and written)
Telecom and/or MLB property experience a plus
Minimum Qualifications
At least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
High School Diploma or GED.
