Primary responsibilities of the role are to craft engaging consumer experiences intended to drive wide-scale awareness for POPSUGAR and its brand partners. Core functions include creating and leading large-scale brand event programs, driving experiential marketing strategy, and overseeing the creation and execution of all sold events and activations.


Core duties and responsibilities


  • Create overall strategy and roadmap of experiential marketing for the POPSUGAR brand
  • Develop overall vision as well as 360-degree event management from scheduling to real-time execution for large-scale tent pole events, as well as guiding team in their individual project(s) execution
  • Serve as team POC for new business efforts and large budget client RFPs in conjunction with sales team
  • Play lead role in client presentation and demonstrate high level competency in selling an idea, responding to questions and communicating POPSUGAR’s point of view
  • Develop and oversee team and project budgets
  • Work closely with integrated marketing, editorial, and sales to create and package tent pole event materials
  • Provide strategic and aesthetic oversight as well as evaluate and select creative, art, and copy pertaining to event activations.
  • Review incoming job starts, creative briefs, and other forms of project initiation to ensure team has essential information and sufficient time
  • Source partners that reinforce POPSUGAR’s brand vision and strategy — including collaborations across entertainment, fitness, fashion, beauty, food, etc.
  • Liaise with creative, PR, consumer and trade marketing teams, to support all event-marketing campaigns and activations
  • Own postmortem ROI evaluation/event follow-ups

    Qualifications


  • 8+ years of relevant experience in production, experiential marketing or related field, developing campaigns and events that meet brand and client goals for a media/entertainment brand or agency
  • Experience managing individual event budgets of $5MM and higher
  • Broad knowledge of permitting, construction, logistics, A/V, lighting, fire, and safety
  • Must have working knowledge of existing and emerging trends in fashion, music, media/entertainment, arts and pop culture.
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in executing events at a high level in addition to thought-leadership in ideation and planning and strategy of events and activations
  • Possesses consistently calm, clear-headed leadership in high-pressure situations and an ability to effectively manage multiple projects on time and within budget
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in addition to managing workload for a team to meet deadlines and multiple requests
