The Global Experiences & Partnerships team leads 40+ partnerships around the world, and oversees the ticket access, live event and digital engagement platforms across core life style areas such in entertainment and cultural events.


This role requires an experienced VP leader to oversee the entertainment strategy, partnerships and platforms across the global music, ticketing, and events for American Express which includes over 20 marquis partnerships across the entertainment value chain and special experiences in culture including the new marquis partnership with Wimbledon. This person is responsible for driving the strategic vision of American Express role and portfolio in Experiences and Entertainment, delivering critical brand and business metrics, while continuing to implement forward-looking innovation in the experiential space. This role would also be accountable for the strategic tenets of the overall Amex Experiences program and its continued global rollout and coordination. The position develops and leads all 360 activation plans across experiential, media, digital, social and PR in entertainment and global events, including the leadership of our global presale program. This includes the creative and briefing process across multiple agency teams through all the programmatic execution across disciplines. He/she also leads partnership evaluations, deal negotiations and contract reviews for partnership renewals and prospective new deals. Proficiency in partnership measurement and asset valuation is required to measure how our programs are driving the brand and the business. Collaboration with colleagues across all lines of business to develop strategic programs in support of business priorities is needed. Travel required (~ 20%) to execute onsite programs and nurture partnerships. Exceptional people leadership essential.


Required Skills

  • Experienced marketer and leader (15+ years), with strong connection to the entertainment industry and passion for/understanding of the experiential marketing space
  • Personal excellence in relationship building with instinctual partnership orientation, working closely with a diverse set of internal partners, industry partners and multiple creative agencies across global markets
  • Exceptional people leadership skills and experience, overseeing a strong team, with an ability to cultivate and develop teams
  • Strategic thinker, well-versed in analytics, consumer insights and employing a service and customer first mindset to all partnership activations
  • Executive presence and presentation skills; effective communicator at all levels of organizations, as well as experience with external press and industry communication
  • Possesses a balance of conviction to drive change with breakthrough collaboration and influencer management capabilities
  • Proficiency in budget management and the necessary decisiveness to focus investments appropriately
  • High energy, self-starter, team-oriented, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit
