This is not your traditional Sponsorship role. The primary role of the Brand Partnerships Director is to cultivate strategic new business development with industry-leading, Fortune 500 brands, Out of Home media advertising agencies and experiential marketing firms to secure and drive incremental revenue that supports WPGs goal of “Pathway to Profit”. In partnership with the SVP, Marketing and Sponsorship this roles leads, drives and implements the overall revenue generation strategies in order to meet and exceed sales goals. This role is about scale. Deals are inclusive of the entire portfolio.

  • You’re agile, fast and lead with a sense of urgency. You hustle, roll up your sleeves and love what you do. Essential Functions
  • Identify, create and sell revenue opportunities through strategic positioning of mall media assets and marketing events in order to achieve financial sales goals for our department.
  • Achieve or exceed personal sales goals and monthly revenue budget.
  • Create compelling client solutions to advertising objectives, develop integrated proposals, articulate the benefits of OOH mall media and Washington Prime Group’s portfolio, and secure large multi property advertising, sponsorship, or promotional programs on a regular basis.
  • Target, pitch, and develop relationships with companies within key vertical markets and categories (casinos, professional sports, entertainment, etc.) based on shopper demographics & intelligence.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sponsorship to optimize sponsorship for signature and local events, holidays and peak calendar activities.


    Skills and Abilities

  • Extremely self-motivated, energetic, creative, independent person who can secure new business accounts and build relationships
  • Adept at prospecting new business, cold calling, and able to effectively communicate the value proposition of Washington Prime Group Malls as an OOH advertising solution
  • Excellent selling, negotiating, proposal writing and presentation skills including fluency in multi-media presentation development
  • Stellar communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word is required
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in fast paced business development group and a commitment to do what it takes to “get the job done
  • Regular, predictable attendance


    Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, management or general business
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience selling advertising (preferably Out of Home), sponsorships, promotions, or marketing services
  • Effective and persuasive pitches with key advertising and media decision makers
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills

  • Experience in digital, social and traditional advertising. Strategy, tactics and execution.
  • Experience working with external agencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel approx. 25%. Flexible to meet the demands of the business / events (i.e. evenings and weekends for key events and initiatives. Travel may flex up / down based on current priorities.
