The Director of Event & Marketing Strategies will lead strategy and development of special events, promotions and marketing programs for 5 key areas:
Macy’s Star Rewards Loyalty Event Portfolio
Multicultural Events
Macy’s Home Store with Macy’s Culinary Council as a key component
Marketing Strategy for all Special Events
Top Door Strategy, Innovative, Differentiated Events and promotions across
The position will also liaise with various internal teams on activation around big experience/entertainment-driven ideas.
This position networks and partners with a combination of internal and external resources including key senior level executives within Marketing, Macy’s Merchant organization, Corporate Communications, Cause Marketing, external vendors and partners. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Oversee development of Star Rewards Loyalty Event Portfolio with cross functional team crafting strategy, responsible for recapping and making recommendations based on recaps
Manage event and marketing strategy for Multicultural special events overseeing all elements related Omni-channel support
Work closely with the Culinary Council and other home vendors to develop events, promotions and marketing strategies to support the Home/Housewares business
Own and develop marketing strategies utilizing new methods and new partners
Seek and implement new partnerships for in store activations that drive sales and traffic
Raise funds/Develop Partnerships to support event strategies
Manage budget to plan
Owns relationship management with all internal and external vendors, partners and clients
Support peer group with events in on-going efforts to promote business
Work on special projects as needed
Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum of 7 years prior marketing experience
Event coordination and execution experience preferred
Proven financial skills – budget creation and execution
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
Mathematical Skills:
Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills
Reasoning Ability:
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions
Physical Demands:
This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking
May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching
May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time
Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
