The Director of Global Sports Marketing Strategy (SM) is a key business leader who easily and accurately identifies white space opportunities to drive long-term business goals and is responsible for the development of Oakley’s sports marketing direction globally, in alignment with brand direction, strategy, and goals. In partnership with Sports Marketing, Marketing and Brand teams, develops and builds Oakley’s brand equity with a diverse set of consumers, seeking opportunities in emerging sports & sport culture, while maintaining deep connections to our global core sports.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build ROI based sports marketing strategy aligned to brand
  • Identify and prioritize key pillars to drive long-term business goals in key sports globally
  • Lead and perform industry situation analytics
  • Develop/oversee centralized SM direction, adopting a fresh approach to sport and sport culture opportunities with global consistency and relevance
  • Cultivate/manage collaborations with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities in the sport industry
  • Identify, quantify, and validate opportunities that strengthen market position in key sports, aligned with brand growth objectives
  • Evaluate new opportunities and assist in negotiations and Sports Mktg eco system development
  • Partner in identifying gaps/growth opportunities by vertical, and develop the SM strategy to support this initiative
  • Establish and drive communication between athletes and new product development to incorporate insights, experiences and data
  • Create and seek opportunities for integration with and participation in the product development process
  • Develop/maintain dashboard for evaluation of key initiatives and brand priorities
  • Support oversight and development of annual Sports Marketing budget
  • Work with D2C channels to develop meaningful event and athlete programs via a 360 approach
  • Manage royalty agreements
  • Develop/evolve big brand moments and partnerships


    Required Skills


    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related
  • 10+ years Marketing experience
  • Strong marketing strategy and influencer management
  • Understanding of sport mindset and trends; ability to apply insights to broader consumer
  • Expertise in digital content, social media, event marketing, and communications
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Able to effectively negotiate deadlines and deliverables
  • Able to manage complex timelines across teams
  • Entrepreneurial with strong ability to inspire and motivate self and others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • High intermediate Microsoft Office skill
  • Connection in sports industry
  • Understanding of sports industry and partnerships
  • Up to 30% travel


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA
  • Multi-sport marketing exp
