The Brand Marketing team is looking for a Director of Brand Sponsorships to align our brand with the interests and passions of our people, our clients, and our prospective clients. This individual has experience in strategic partnership strategy and development to support Marketing leadership in defining and executing Morgan Stanley’s enterprise sponsorship strategy, including the evaluation of legacy programs and the conception of new partnerships that align with the firm’s business and brand strategy goals.


Responsibilities

  • Support Marketing Leadership in the establishment of a long-term vision and strategy for brand partnerships and sponsorships that brings visibility to the brand across key audiences
  • Develop an evaluation model and criteria for partnership and sponsorship opportunities to ensure alignment with our brand, our values, and our business goals; develop associated marketing models for relevant opportunities.
  • Develop and refine the current strategy for sports sponsorship; identifying, assessing, and developing new brand sponsorship strategies (beyond sports) that support new enterprise brand strategy
  • Provide quarterly competitive assessment related to brand sponsorship strategies, investments, and ambassadors.
  • Look for untapped opportunity that differentiates the brand by developing and maintaining a position-paper POV on key opportunities and supporting the development of new ideas, new partners, technologies, and creative strategies that offer exclusive access and engage clients in new and innovative ways
  • Lead coordination with external partners (publishers, agencies, brand ambassadors, etc.) and internal partners (sourcing, public relations, media, content, and events teams) to create integrated, best-in-class online and offline experiences that maximize sponsorship value
  • Set, communicate and measure relevant KPIs for all partnerships and sponsorships, demonstrating tangible brand and business impact
  • Remain active with stakeholders and deliver executive-level summaries to provide status, communicate dependencies and ensure alignment to strategic goals, budgets, and deadlines
  • Manage and support the career development of direct and indirect team members, championing a culture of inclusion and innovation


    Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree required with 8+ years of relevant experience in sponsorship development, product development or marketing strategy; financial services or professional services industry experience preferred
  • Experience developing sponsorship, partnership or co-brand strategies and recommendations including identification, assessment, financials, contract and partner negotiations, competitive analysis, and pricing
  • Ability to build and nurture cross-functional collaborative relationships to manage strategic, integrated multi-platform, multi-asset sponsorships and campaigns
  • Experience translating business objectives and client needs into effective partnership and campaigns; experience crafting creative briefs to inspire and galvanize agency partners to deliver breakthrough creative solutions
  • Possess strong creative instincts and judgment—interest in popular culture, specifically sports, art, and entertainment a plus
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with excellent project management skills; able to outline effective project plans and timelines
  • Superior written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and responsively to navigate, facilitate and influence internally and externally
