Spring Online began life as ‘Silver Surfers’ Day’ back in 2002. Our aim was to introduce older people to the world of technology at a local level by encouraging and supporting outlets such as libraries, community centres, schools and sheltered housing schemes to open their doors and hold taster sessions. 40 events were held in our first year; twelve years on, and 1,000 events were held across the UK in 2013 helping around 20,000 people to get online.
