The DirecTV Classic is an 8 team college basketball tournament held during Thanksgiving week. The inaugural tournament was held November 22, 23 and 25, 2007, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The tournament began in 2007, and is run and operated by ESPN Regional Television. Games are televised on ESPN2 and ESPNU. Before 2012 it was known at the "76 Classic;" ConocoPhillips's 76 chain owned the naming rights to the tournament. On October 24, 2012 DIRECTV and ESPN announced an agreement establishing the broadcast satellite service provider as the title sponsor of the 2012 DIRECTV Classic, formerly the Anaheim Classic . read more
