The Great Pacific Race represents the most extreme human powered endurance event on the planet. 20 crews representing 9 different nations compete against each other to be the fastest to row the Pacific Ocean. For many this represents an opportunity to be awarded a Guinness World Record as the first from their country to row the Pacific.

The teams from USA, UK, Canada, France, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Slovakia and the Netherlands start from Monterey, California on June 7th and start to row the 2400 miles to Honolulu, Hawaii. The whole race takes between one and three months. There are no engines or sails allowed. Instead each crew must use their muscles to power their ruggedly designed boats to the finish.

The boats are tracked and hourly position updates are broadcast via the race website. The fleet of support vessels ensures that assistance can be provided if needed and allows footage of each crew's experience to be distributed in the weekly race update and as b-roll.

Global media coverage is assured in this one of a kind extreme event.
