Hired Gun is a compelling story about the creative genius, personalities, stories, and music of the best sidemen, sidewomen, session players, and paid musicians in the world. Collectively, they are group of musicians that possess uncommon musical ability, and an uncanny knack of being able to get it right and deliver what is needed for the song or the performance. But that is where the comparison ends. Individually, they are a diverse lot with vastly different backgrounds and experience in music world. Most of them make a living playing, singing, and songwriting in relative obscurity.
Some try to take the road less traveled, the road to independence as an acclaimed musician, singer or songwriter in his or her own right. Most of them do not make it, and when they don’t--what happens to them?
