The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is the largest literary and lifestyle festival in North America. In its 23rd year in 2018, the Festival of Books is a cultural and civic jewel of the L.A. community. With hundreds of visiting celebrity authors and a packed schedule of indoor author Conversations and stage presentations, the event features nine themed zones (Arts & Culture, Culinary, Family & Children, Young Adult, HERO, Word, Comedy, Hoy Latino Neighborhood), each with its own dedicated programming, exhibitors and sponsors. In 2018 a new initiative and themed zone NEWSTORY, is launching, which will showcase vibrant programming that celebrates emerging forms of storytelling through interactive exhibits featuring cutting edge, immersive experiences in AR & VR, podcasting, gaming, films, music and more.
Held in conjunction with the University of Southern California and at the USC campus, this free 2-day Festival draws over 150,000 visitors annually.
