Emirates signs deal with New York Philharmonic Tuesday, June 14, 2016 — New York, NY and Dubai, U.A.E., – Emirates is expanding its cultural sponsorship portfolio and announced today that it has signed a new multi-year sponsorship deal as the Official Airline of the New York Philharmonic. The contract begins June 2016 and will last for a period of three years. The sponsorship includes ticket and hospitality experiences at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall and the New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, as well as branding and advertising opportunities.

The Orchestra has commissioned and/or premiered works by leading composers from every era since its founding in 1842. The oldest American symphony orchestra and one of the oldest in the world, the New York Philharmonic has made almost 2,000 recordings since 1917. Music Director Alan Gilbert began his tenure in 2009, succeeding a distinguished line of 20th-century musical giants including Bernstein, Toscanini, and Mahler.
