On Flag Day—Saturday, June 14, 2014—Americans will Raise It Up! and come together to participate in potentially the largest unified event in American history and turn the national anthem into “the song that was heard around the world.” The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History is leading the national commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner flag and the national anthem.
The event--live from the National Mall and broadcast/webcast across the globe--will include musical performances from America’s top artists and the singing of patriotic songs by national music groups. A countdown will lead up to the culminating “moment” when America will stop to sing the Anthem live from coast to coast led by a celebrity ensemble. This major event will be a uniting moment for Americans around the world as together they break several Guinness Book of World Record including the largest number of people singing a national anthem simultaneously. The Museum is partnering with numerous national organizations such as the National Park Service, Chorus America and the Kennedy Center, as well as professional sports leagues, veterans groups, and government agencies, to build awareness and drive participation for the event.
Sponsors have the opportunity to align their brand with one of the most trusted brands in the nation--the Smithsonian Institution--and receive prominent recognition and benefits including a valuable Smithsonian Magazine media package.
