Sports indeed serves as a platform to unite people and with all they’ve been doing with sports, AirAsia is very much aware of this”, he added.Following AirAsia’s sponsorship, MASOC’s aim of achieving its RM80 target in overall sponsorship is close to becoming a reality. “We’re almost there, we’ve now achieved 88 percent of the overall sponsorship target. The amount accumulated thus far stands at RM70.5 million, this include cash and sponsorship in kind and services.“We’ve raised RM21 million in cash sponsorship while for products and services, the total sponsorship is worth RM49 million, which is 99 percent of the target.“By next month, I believe we will get closer to our actual target,” said YB Brig Jen Khairy at the sponsorship signing ceremony between MASOC and AirAsia.Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Youth and Sports Datuk M. Saravanan, MASOC Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zolkples Embong, Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) Secretary General Datuk Low Beng Choo and AirAsia executive Chairman Datuk Kamarudin Meranum and Air Asia Chief Executive Officer Aireen Omar.Prior to this, AirAsia has collaborated with the Ministry of Sports in the promotion of sports including in MotoGP as well as providing rewards to Rio Olympic Games and Paralympic Games 2016 medalists from the Southeast Asian countries in the form of free flights.

Singapore Airlines signs deal with Southeast Asian Games The national carrier will sponsor complimentary Economy Class tickets to Singapore as prizes for promotional activities around the region, including “NILA’s Quest”, a web-based digital game created to engage the regional community. The Games, which will be held in Singapore from June 5 to 16, will also see SIA cabin crew participating in the opening and closing ceremonies.
