The Red Party is an annual gala benefit for people affected by HIV in Upstate South Carolina. AID Upstate is the beneficiary and producer of this event. The event includes private dinners hosted by individuals around Greenville, and The Red Party (our signature event) is the gala to celebrate the fundraising success of the individual dinners. Attendance is typically around 500. Attendance at The Red Party is 75% Caucasian, 20% African American and 5% Hispanic. Gender breakdown: 70% Male, 25% Female and 5% transgender. The age range is 21 years and older; while the age range is comprehensive, there is a concentration of guests in the 40 to 60 range. The event includes DJ, dancing, cash bar, brief program, free desserts and champagne toast.
