In May 2015, Morey’s Piers – the classic seaside amusement park destination located in the Wildwoods, NJ – will again play host to The Wild Half Weekend and welcome participants to a series of first-class destination endurance events in one of America’s top family vacation destinations.
On the weekend of May 16 -17, 2015, some 5,000 runners will converge on the Wildwoods to race in the weekend-long sporting event; they’ll be joined by their friends and families who have come to support them and scores of spectators that include both visitors and residents of the Wildwoods.
The Race Schedule for 2015 features well-organized timed events for participants of all types and levels of race experience on USA Track & Field sanctioned courses that traverse roads, bike path, and the famous Wildwood Boardwalk. The line-up of standard distance races include a scenic 13.1-mile Half Marathon, 5K Race, and 8K Race. For the “12 & Under” crowd, there will be a special running of the ever-popular Wild Child 1K Beach Run that takes place entirely on the Wildwood Beach.
The Wild Half Weekend offers an unforgettable race experience for participating athletes, who account for all age groups and running abilities. It’s a weekend destination event – timed well for early in the season – designed to attract families and new visitors from around the region to see and experience the Wildwoods in a truly unique and memorable way.
