Founded in 1948, The Bordeaux Wine Council (Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux) represents the winemakers, wine merchants and brokers that make up the Bordeaux wine industry. The CIVB has three core roles: Economic, Technical, and Marketing/Communications. Through its global economic activities it provides information, studies and analyses on the production and sales of Bordeaux wine around the world. Its research and development programs help drive innovation, anticipate new regulatory and safety standards, and protect the quality of Bordeaux wines.
