(Katy, Texas)  – This month, 181 community and business members from across Katy came together to bring the love of reading into almost 400 Katy ISD classrooms during Promise to Read.  The annual initiative is part of a 19-year-old tradition led by Katy ISD's Partners in Education.  Promise to Read affords the community a unique opportunity to reacquaint themselves with the world of children's literature by spending 30 minutes reading to a classroom of excited elementary students. Each November the program is offered over the course of two weeks at various elementary campuses.
