About Sponsor:

Lotte Co., Ltd. is a South Korean-Japanese Jaebeol and one of the largest food and shopping groups in South Korea and Japan. Lotte was established in June 1948, in Tokyo, by Japanese-educated, Korean businessman Shin Kyuk-Ho – also known as Takeo Shigemitsu . After the normalization of Japan–Korea relations in 1965, Lotte expanded into Korea with the establishment of Lotte Confectionary Co., Ltd in Seoul on April 3, 1967.

The 2018 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXIII Olympic Winter Games, is a winter multi-sport event scheduled to take place in Pyeongchang, South Korea, between 9 and 25 February 2018. The elected host city was announced on 6 July 2011 by the International Olympic Committee , after the 123rd IOC Session in Durban. Other candidates that applied to host the games were Annecy, France and Munich, Germany.

Seoul, March 16 – The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) signed an official domestic sponsorship agreement with Lotte Group today in a ceremony at the Lakai Sandpine Resort in Gangneung. The attendees included POCOG President Yang-Ho Cho, Lotte Group President SO Jin-Sei and IOC Coordination Commission Chair Gunilla Lindberg.
