In a surprising move, the National Hockey League has reached a 12-year, $5.232 billion (Canadian) agreement with Rogers Communications Rogers Communications for broadcast and multimedia rights, and in doing so, pushed long-standing NHL broadcast partner The Sports Network (TSN) to the side. The new broadcast deal for English-language broadcasts kicks in 2014-15 season and runs through the 2025-26 season. The agreement is the largest media rights deal in NHL history and the largest-ever sports-media rights agreement in Canadian history.
