The Resorts Casino & Hotel Haskell Invitational is an American Grade I race for thoroughbred horses. In 1968, the Board of Directors of Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, New Jersey honored its former President and Chairman Amory L. Haskell with the Amory L. Haskell Handicap, a race for older horses. In 1981, the race was made an invitation-only stakes for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles. It has been run under stakes conditions beginning with the 2006 running. In 2011, Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey became an official sponsor of the race, as part of a five-year partnership between the casino and the racetrack. read more
