Mauricio Lastres is ready to enter the 2014 Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear. The FCC is a junior formula car racing series which competes in northern California. The signature event of the FCC is at the GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma held every year in August. The FCC races alongside the Pirelli World Challenge Series and the Izod IndyCar Series on the same weekend. Attendance for the three days of practice and racing is over 60,000.

During his time in karting he also worked and attended college. Mauricio graduated summa cum laude from Florida International University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is currently a graduate student at UC Berkeley.
Away from the track he’s given award winning presentations, and is just as comfortable speaking to young students as he is speaking to board members and dignitaries.
