Coball Entertainment continues to evolve in an ever-changing entertainment landscape by expanding its repertoire to include Broadway licensed productions. In a collaborative effort with Theater 47, a Chicago based theater company and its Founder/Director, John Ruffin; Coball Entertainment will bring Broadway productions to the masses. Starting in September of 2014 – May of 2015, Coball Entertainment has will present the Tony Award winning hit Broadway hit musical THE COLOR PURPLE. The Color Purple is presented through special arrangement with and all authorized performance materials are supplied by Theatrical Rights Worldwide, 570 Seventh Avenue, Suite 2100, New York, NY 10018.
Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Alice Walker and Nominated for 11 Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, THE COLOR PURPLE opened on December 1, 2005 at the Broadway Theatre where it ran for over two record-breaking years. It is the inspiring story of a woman named Celie who finds the strength to triumph over adversity, and discover her unique voice in the world.
Coball Entertainment and Theater 47’s shared mission of this tour is to evoke an artistic awakening and provide affordable entertainment options to communities and families -- particularly those who have never had an opportunity to see a Broadway production.
