BankPlus partners with Snowden Grove Amphitheater Facilities at Snowden Grove Park in Southaven, including the Amphitheater and Sports Center, will soon have the name "BankPlus" connected with it.City and bank officials announced the 10-year agreement at a price tag of $1 million during a news conference at the Sports Center. The Parks and Recreation Department building at Snowden Grove Park will take on the name "BankPlus Sports Center" and the concert venue will become the "BankPlus Ampthitheater at Snowden Grove."In addition, the Dizzy Dean World Series will be presented by BankPlus and the diamond on the "C" Complex where the televised championship game is played will take on the name, "BankPlus Field." Mayor Darren Musselwhite said the initial payment of $325,000 in exchange for the naming rights will be received in the first year of the partnership. Nine payments of $75,000 will follow that on an annual basis. An additional $75,000 will be paid by the financial institution for signage. Musselwhite said the money from the naming rights will be injected into a plan for expansion of the parks which the Board of Aldermen approved in April. "We're setting priorities now based on cash flows," Musselwhite said. "Money like this gives us more flexibility in that area."
